President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, Chairs Committee to Address Environmental Crisis in Gabès
The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, presided over a meeting of the committee tasked with finding urgent solutions to the environmental situation in the city of Gabès, at the Carthage Palace on Tuesday.

Presidential Address
According to a statement, the Head of State affirmed that he is closely following the situation, praising the attitude of the inhabitants and their deep awareness in preserving civil peace, standing alongside the security forces to face any attempt to fuel tensions by all means. He recalled the waste of public funds during the acquisition in 2018 of a number of equipment that were abandoned, degraded, and became largely unusable, in addition to the spread of false information. "The intention was to surrender several public establishments, disregarding the suffering of the people of Gabès and the rest of the country," he said.
Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
The President of the Republic emphasized that it is the right of the Tunisian people to know the whole truth, to demand accountability in accordance with the law, and to live freely with dignity. He affirmed that an end will be put to their suffering in all areas and regions.
Call to Action
The Head of State received a copy of the preliminary report prepared by the committee, calling for increased efforts to elaborate a final report with immediate and urgent solutions in the shortest possible time. He recalled that several countries have been inspired by studies conducted by Tunisian experts in this field.
National Liberation and Resilience
President Saïed reaffirmed that Tunisia is currently experiencing a "war of liberation" on all fronts and that the Tunisian people will thwart, through their awareness and determination, all conspiracies. He added that the Tunisian state is not governed by social media publications or by those who have chosen treason, allegiance to foreigners, and the spread of rumors and lies.
