President Kaïs Saïed Meets with Parliamentary and Regional Leaders
Tunis, — Yesterday afternoon, President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed held talks with Ibrahim Bouderbala, President of the Assembly of the People’s Representatives, and Imed Derbali, President of the National Council of Regions and Districts.
According to an official communiqué from the Presidency, the Head of State opened the meeting by emphasizing that the only thing that unites us and cannot be subject to disagreement is “our homeland, our independence, our State and its continuity.” He noted that the holder of sovereignty – the Tunisian people – has set its priorities, and that it is the responsibility of every citizen to work toward their achievement, each within the competencies granted by the Constitution.
National Unity and a Sacred Duty
The President stressed that it is natural for approaches and opinions to differ under the Constitution’s framework, but that a sacred national duty requires us to stay in harmony with the people, who consistently demonstrate deep consciousness. He added:
“We must all step up, as we stem from the same source, to eradicate the causes of their suffering.”
Justice and the Fight Against Corruption
President Saïed reaffirmed that the current task is to forge a new history for the country, built on:
- Justice and fairness
- Equality for all – no one is above the law
- Firmness – no truce will be granted in the fight against corruption
He warned that those who imagine they can continue a “usury war” will soon face the consequences, and that the challenges will be met despite any difficulties.
Toward Concrete Achievements
In closing, the President declared that the great Tunisian people await tangible results in every aspect of life. Some initiatives are already taking shape, and many more will materialize, especially thanks to the youth.
“Let us unite around a common word: Tunisia, our beloved homeland. Let us gather under a single banner – our national flag – with a purely Tunisian spirit. We count on God and on our own abilities; the era of speeches is over, the time has come to act decisively in reality.”
