President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, Receives Head of Government
The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received yesterday, Wednesday, October 8, Ms. Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, Head of Government. This meeting focused on the finance bill and the economic balance for the upcoming year.
Emphasis on Social Aspect and Structural Reforms
On this occasion, the Head of State emphasized the need to prioritize the social aspect and implement structural reforms of public finances. He specified that the legacy left in many areas is heavy and that it is imperative to address all challenges with new approaches and renewed thinking. Economic balances, he added, are not just abstract numbers or calculations, but must be concretely reflected in the daily lives of citizens in all regions of the country.
Tunisia's Commitment to Self-Reliance
The President of the Republic recalled that Tunisia, which has chosen to rely on its own means and honor all its debts on time, despite the fact that the people have not benefited from it as expected, has thus disproven those who today regret the return of "international finance" and call for foreign interference.
Dysfunction of Public Services
The Head of State also mentioned the abnormal dysfunction of many public services, reaffirming that anyone who has failed in their responsibilities and considers them as a means of privilege and banquets will have to assume the consequences of their often deliberate shortcomings - a situation, he insisted, that cannot continue.
End of Parallel Power Centers
He added that what is called the "deep administration" is now visible in broad daylight, and that there is no longer room for parallel power centers or the remnants of lobbies within the state institutions, which the people have chosen to follow the path of justice, freedom, and paid the price of blood for their independence and liberation.
Empowering Youth
President Saïed concluded by stating that the future belongs to the youth, and that they must be given the opportunity to participate, with all their enthusiasm and dedication, in building the Tunisia they want: a Tunisia of justice, freedom, and national dignity. "These are not the chimera of conspirators," he said, "but hopes that will be realized and expectations that will not be disappointed."
