President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, Receives Head of Government Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received the Head of Government, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, yesterday afternoon, November 27, at the Carthage Palace. The meeting discussed the general situation in the country.

Accelerating New Projects and Legislative Reform

Kaïs Saïed gave instructions to accelerate the development of new text projects aimed at opening up broad perspectives, particularly for young people. He emphasized that Tunisia needs a "legislative revolution" based on renewed thinking, while stressing the importance of those responsible for applying the laws being driven by energy, dynamism, and a real commitment to the people's expectations. "The essential thing is not just the text, but those who assume its execution," he stated.

Combating Corruption and Ensuring Accountability

The President also insisted on the need to continue the fight against all forms of corruption, both within the administration and outside. He recalled that negligence, refusal to assume responsibilities, or administrative mistreatment of citizens constitute forms of corruption that exacerbate social tensions. Those responsible for such actions should not be shielded from accountability, he warned.

Ending Excuses and Ensuring Responsibility

Kaïs Saïed denounced the excuses put forward by some officials who cite procedures or lack of credits, when these have been allocated for years. He called for an immediate end to these practices and for their authors to be held fully responsible. He also recalled that the role of the President is not to constantly remind officials, at the central, regional, or local level, of their duties.
