Global Media Solidarity Campaign Launched
A worldwide media solidarity campaign in support of the Palestinian press, organized by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), began on 1 September 2025.
- It is the largest unified international media movement in the history of the global press.
- Its goals are to demand an end to attacks on Palestinian journalists and to pave the way for independent international media access to Gaza.
Tunisian Journalists Join the Initiative
The National Union of Tunisian Journalists announced yesterday that it is joining the campaign. The union stressed that the events in Gaza represent:
- A brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and their legitimate, courageous resistance.
- A systematic attack on a free press and on the fundamental right to access information.
The union’s statement underscores the intertwined nature of the humanitarian crisis and the assault on press freedom, calling for immediate international action to protect journalists and restore open reporting from the region.
