Japan Triggers Tsunami Alert After 6.7-Magnitude Earthquake
Japan triggered a tsunami alert on Sunday, November 9, 2025, after a 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck the sea off the coast of Iwate Prefecture in the northeastern part of the country. The earthquake occurred at around 17:03 local time (08:03 GMT). Japanese authorities indicated that the waves could reach a height of one meter.
