Iraqi Forces Shoot Down Unidentified Drone Near Erbil Airport
Iraqi forces announced on Saturday that they have downed an “unidentified” drone close to Erbil Airport in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
In a statement released by the media cell of the Joint Operations Command, officials said the aircraft crashed in the Kazna area of Erbil province, striking a warehouse that stored plastic materials and igniting a fire on site.
Coalition Intercepts Four Trapped Drones
The international coalition also reported that, the day before, its forces intercepted and shot down four “trapped” drones as part of a series of attacks targeting the Kurdistan region over the past few days. Those attacks have resulted in human casualties and material damage.
Ongoing Iranian Missile and Drone Threats
Amid rising regional tensions, Iranian missiles and drones continue to target several Arab countries. The recent strikes have been condemned by numerous states and international organizations, all calling for an immediate halt to the hostilities.
