In a speech broadcast on Saturday, Mr. Pezeshkian said:
“I apologise to the neighbouring countries with which we have no hostility. We must cooperate to guarantee security and peace.”
He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to international law, while stressing that “the enemy has no right to ignore our rights.” Praising the resilience of his people, he called for national unity to defend the country with strength:
“We will stand until our last breath to pull our nation out of this crisis.”
The president stressed that Iran will not surrender to Israel or the United States as the conflict moves into its second week.
“The enemies will take their dream of seeing the Iranian people capitulate to the grave with them,” he added.
Since 28 February, a war waged by Israel and the United States against Iran has claimed the lives of hundreds of Iranians, including the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior security officials. In retaliation, Tehran has intensified missile and drone attacks on Tel Aviv, while also targeting “American interests” in several Gulf states, Iraq, and Jordan.
