Iran Launches Missile and Drone Attacks on Multiple U.S. Military Sites in the Gulf
Iran has carried out missile and drone strikes against several U.S. military installations in the Gulf, notably hitting a service center of the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama, Bahrain.
Bahraini authorities confirmed that the center was struck by a missile, but they have not yet released details on possible casualties or damage.
The Iranian military elite – the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) – admitted to targeting this fleet as well as other U.S. bases in the region (Qatar, United Arab Emirates), in retaliation for recent American and Israeli airstrikes on Iranian sites.
The attack marks a major escalation in the conflict after the United States and Israel conducted air raids on Iranian infrastructure, including facilities in Tehran, according to several international news agencies.
In response, Iran launched missiles toward several U.S. allies in the area – notably Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain – triggering alert sirens and anti‑aircraft defense interceptions.
