Iran’s Armed Forces Respect Turkey’s Sovereignty, Deny Launching Any Missile
The Iranian armed forces stated in a communiqué released by official media on Thursday that they respect Turkey’s sovereignty and denied having launched any missile toward Turkish territory.
On Wednesday, Turkey’s Ministry of Defense announced that NATO air‑defence and anti‑missile systems had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile over the eastern Mediterranean. According to the ministry, the missile was launched from Iran, flew over Syria and Iraq, and was heading toward Turkish airspace before being shot down.
