Iran Condemns Assassination of Hezbollah Commander
Iran condemned the assassination of Haithem Tabatabaei, a military commander of the Lebanese Hezbollah, which occurred during an Israeli raid on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Sunday, November 24, 2025.
Statement from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
In a statement, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that it "strongly condemns" the "cowardly assassination of the great commander of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance, martyr Haithem Ali Tabatabaei," during an airstrike that also killed four other members of Hezbollah.
Confirmation from Hezbollah
Hezbollah had previously confirmed the death of the high-ranking military commander, Haithem Tabatabaei, in the raid carried out by the Israeli occupation on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Sunday. The movement's statement reads: "Hezbollah announces to the Resistance population and to our Lebanese people the death of the great jihadist commander, martyr Haithem Ali Tabatabaei (Sayyed Abou Ali), who fell as a martyr for Lebanon and its people, following a treacherous Israeli aggression on the Haret Hreik neighborhood in the southern suburbs of Beirut."
