Iranian Security Forces Arrest Narges Mohammadi
Iranian security forces arrested Narges Mohammadi on Friday, December 12, 2025, using "violence," during a commemoration marking the first anniversary of the death of an Iranian lawyer. Mohammadi, who had been granted temporary release from prison in 2024, was arrested along with other activists during a ceremony honoring lawyer Khosro Ali Kordi, who was found dead in his office last week, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP). Her husband, Taghi Rahmani, who resides in Paris, stated on the "X" (formerly Twitter) platform that she was arrested during the ceremony in the city of Mashhad, in the east of the country, along with prominent activist Sepideh Gholian.
