Tunisia Continues to Promote Economic Growth Internationally
FIPA-Tunisia's representative in Milan participated in an economic meeting organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Perugia, in partnership with the Tunisian Embassy in Rome, with the participation of the Tunisian-Italian Chamber of Commerce and the CEPEX representative in Milan on May 4th.
This event brought together institutions and economic actors to strengthen relations between the Italian region of Umbria and Tunisia. The goal is to develop new opportunities for partnership, investment, and industrial cooperation.
During this meeting, FIPA-Tunisia highlighted Tunisia's main strengths as a strategic platform at the heart of the Mediterranean. Tunisia stands out for its advanced integration into regional and international markets through frameworks such as COMESA, ZLECAf, and its agreements with the European Union and Mediterranean partners.
The country also benefits from a qualified and multilingual human capital, a pool of skills in scientific, technical, and digital fields, as well as competitive production costs that favor nearshoring strategies. Additionally, Tunisia has modern infrastructure and a favorable investment environment, supported by attractive incentives.
The exchanges allowed for the highlighting of complementarities between the economic fabric of Umbria and the opportunities offered by Tunisia, particularly in high-value-added sectors such as food processing, mechanical and electrical industries, textiles, aerospace, and digital technologies.
The meeting was also marked by the testimonies of Italian companies established in Tunisia, including the Colacem group, which shared their positive experiences and interest in Tunisia's business climate. These interventions emphasized the country's competitive advantages, including its geographical proximity to Europe, the quality of its human resources, and its position within Euro-African value chains.
In the margins of the meeting, several B2B exchanges allowed for the identification of concrete collaboration opportunities between Tunisian and Italian companies, opening the way to partnerships focused on co-production, internationalization, and market diversification.
Finally, this initiative provided FIPA-Tunisia with the opportunity to invite Italian partners to participate in upcoming major economic events in Tunisia, including the Tunisia Investment Forum (TIF 2026) and the Aerospace Meetings Tunisia event scheduled for July 7-9, 2026, to reinforce their commitment to investment opportunities in the country.
