Meeting Between Tunisian and German Foreign Ministers
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nefti, met with his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, on Friday in New York. They reaffirmed their shared desire to strengthen the solid friendship and cooperation between the two countries, particularly as they approach the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.
Discussion Highlights
During the meeting, which took place as part of his participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Nefti emphasized Tunisia's desire to further enhance bilateral cooperation, increase joint investments, and diversify their areas of cooperation. This includes:
- Renewable energy sectors
- Infrastructure development
- Projects aimed at mitigating the impact of climate change
- Development of the tourism sector
- Support for trade exchanges
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday, the two parties agreed to continue consulting and coordinating to ensure the follow-up of existing cooperation programs between the two countries, as well as within the framework of Tunisian-European partnership relations.
