Israeli‑U.S. Airstrikes Against Iran: International Reactions

The Zionist entity and the United States launched a “preventive” air‑strike campaign against Iran on Saturday, stating that the operation would last “several days.” Iranian state media reported numerous explosions in Tehran and other cities across the country.

The Israeli military and Iran’s news agency Tasnim said Iran responded by firing several salvos of missiles and drones toward the Zionist entity. No damage has been confirmed so far.

Multiple explosions were heard over the skies of Doha and Abu Dhabi, but authorities in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait—hosts of U.S. military bases—said they intercepted all missiles aimed at their territories.

One missile, however, appears to have struck the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, according to a video circulating on social media and eyewitness accounts.

Below are the reactions from the international community to this offensive.

🇫🇷 Emmanuel Macron – President of France

“The outbreak of war between the United States, Israel and Iran carries grave consequences for international peace and security,” Macron wrote on X.

  • France stands ready to deploy the necessary means to protect its closest partners upon request.
  • The ongoing escalation is dangerous for everyone and must end.
  • The Iranian regime must understand that it now has no other option than to engage in good‑faith negotiations to end its nuclear and ballistic programs and its regional destabilisation activities.

📜 Joint Statement – Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merkel, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer

“France, Germany and the United Kingdom have consistently urged the Iranian regime to end its nuclear programme, curb its ballistic‑missile development, refrain from any destabilising activity in the region and in our countries, and stop the horrific violence and repression against its own people,” the three European leaders—representing the E3 that signed the 2015 Iran nuclear deal—said.

  • “We did not take part in these strikes, but we are in close contact with our international partners, including the United States, the Zionist entity and regional allies.
  • We reaffirm our commitment to regional stability and the protection of civilians.”

🇬🇧 Keir Starmer – Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

  • The British armed forces are conducting joint exercises to protect the interests of the United Kingdom and its allies.
  • Starmer called on Iran to abstain from any further strikes and to end the violence and oppression inflicted on its own people.

🇹🇷 Recep Tayyip Erdogan – President of Turkey

  • Erdogan expressed concern, describing the Israeli‑American strikes as a violation of Iran’s sovereignty that undermines the peace of the Iranian people.
  • He urged urgent action to prevent future bloodshed and announced that Ankara will accelerate diplomatic efforts toward a cease‑fire agreement.
  • Erdogan also condemned Iranian attacks on Gulf states.

🇷🇺 Sergei Lavrov – Russian Foreign Minister

  • Lavrov spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi, condemning what the TASS agency called a “non‑provoked attack on Iran.”
  • The Russian foreign ministry had earlier called for a return to a political and diplomatic resolution.
