Celebrating 70 Years of Tunisia's Baccalaureate Exam
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the creation of the baccalaureate exam in Tunisia, the Ministry of Education presented a documentary film at the Tunis International Book Fair to visitors, retracing the evolution of this national exam since its first session in 1957.
The film highlights various official documents related to the baccalaureate over the decades, including exam copies, grade sheets, baccalaureate diplomas, and regulatory documents governing the exam and defining the correction criteria.
In this context, the director of the school textbook edition at the Ministry of Education, Sofiane Hadhraoui, stated in a declaration to the TAP agency that this initiative aims to value the national educational memory by presenting it to new generations in a modern format combining documentary and pedagogical dimensions.
He clarified that the video does not only present archives but also offers a reading of the evolution of the educational system through the baccalaureate exam, considered a mirror of the transformations that the education system in Tunisia has undergone over the past seven decades.
He added that the realization of this work required coordination between the different structures of the Ministry to collect, organize, and simplify the archives in an attractive visual format, allowing students to understand the evolution of evaluation methods and exam content, as well as grasp the importance of this exam in the school journey.
He announced the integration of this content into the "Joussour" platform, to expand its access and make it available to all stakeholders in the education sector, including students, educational staff, and parents.
Finally, he emphasized that the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the baccalaureate exam is not just a symbolic event, but also represents a step to evaluate the journey and envision the future of national exams in light of digital transformations, while ensuring the credibility of the exam and its position as one of the main achievements of the Tunisian school.
