Tunis Court of Appeal's Criminal Chamber Delays Instalingo Case Verdict
The Criminal Chamber of the Tunis Court of Appeal decided today, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, to postpone the deliberation on the requests for release and set a later date for the trial of the defendants in the so-called "Instalingo Case". The investigation involved several defendants, including politicians, bloggers, businessmen, the former spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, and the former head of government, Hichem Mechichi.
It is worth noting that all detainees were brought before the court, including the former spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, Mohamed Ali Laroui, the former Minister of Investment, Riadh Beltaïeb, bloggers, journalist Chadha Haj Mabrouk, and the treasurer of the Namaa Tounes association, Abdelkarim Souleiman.
It is also recalled that Rached Ghannouchi abstained from appearing, and two defendants being tried under conditional release were absent because they had not been notified of the court summons.
"Instalingo" is a company based in Kalâa El Kebira (Sousse) that operated in the field of "content production and digital communication". Its headquarters were raided on September 10, 2021, following reports of suspected "involvement in undermining state security, money laundering, and abuse of others via social networks".
Previously, the Second Criminal Chamber of the Tunis Court of First Instance had delivered its judgments in the so-called "Instalingo" case, with sentences ranging from 5 to 54 years in prison.
