Tunisian Organization of Young Doctors Expresses Indignation

The Tunisian Organization of Young Doctors has expressed its outrage in a statement over the lack of concrete measures to protect medical and paramedical staff in hospital emergency services and ensure the safety of healthcare institutions. This declaration comes after repeated attacks on medical and paramedical staff working in the emergency department of Habib Bougatfa University Hospital in Bizerte.

Demanding Accountability

The Organization holds the hospital management, regional authorities, and the Ministry of Health entirely responsible for the escalation of this situation. It emphasizes the need to fulfill previous promises and quickly follow up on a petition signed by over 50 healthcare agents, nurses, and doctors from the department, which called for a series of simple measures to guarantee their safety.

Planned Protests

The Organization has announced a series of protest movements starting from October 15, in coordination with doctors (both young and interns), nurses, health technicians, and all public health professionals working in this department and hospital. These protests aim to push for immediate action to address the safety concerns of healthcare workers and to ensure a secure working environment.
