Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms Expected in Northern and Central Regions
Heavy rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected to hit several regions in the north and center of the country starting from the afternoon of Wednesday, October 15, 2025, announced the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) in a follow-up bulletin.
According to the same source, precipitation could reach up to 40 millimeters in certain areas, particularly in the extreme north, as well as in the governorates of Greater Tunis, Nabeul, Zaghouan, Sousse, Monastir, and Kairouan.
The INM specifies that these showers will be punctually intense, accompanied by hail in some areas and strong winds with gusts that could temporarily exceed 80 km/h during thunderstorms.
Meteorological authorities are calling for vigilance in the face of risks of runoff and disruptions to traffic, particularly in urban areas and low-lying regions.
