Creation of a Joint Committee to Study Water Pumping Stations in Industrial Zones

Following a meeting held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy, it was decided to create a joint committee to study the situation of water pumping stations in industrial zones. This committee, which will be supervised by the ministry, will be responsible for examining the technical and land-related aspects of the stations on a case-by-case basis and taking the necessary measures to transfer them to the National Sanitation Office (ONAS) as soon as possible and in accordance with current regulations.

Meeting to Discuss Transfer of Pumping Stations

The meeting, chaired by Minister Fatma Thabet Chiboub, discussed the mechanisms for transferring certain pumping stations to ONAS. Attendees included the CEO of ONAS, the CEO and executives of the Industrial Land Agency (AFI), as well as high-ranking officials from the ministry, according to a statement.

Importance of Transfer for Equipment Maintenance and Service Quality

The importance of this transfer was emphasized to ensure the maintenance of equipment and the quality of services. The minister stressed the need to strengthen coordination and simplify administrative procedures to find practical and sustainable solutions in the general interest.

Meeting with AFI to Discuss Industrial Infrastructure

In the same context, and in order to provide industrial infrastructure that meets the needs of investors, the minister also met with the CEO of AFI, Kais Majeri, and agency executives to follow up on the work program and ongoing projects. Discussions focused on the progress of development projects and ways to accelerate their implementation. They also concerned the situation of unexploited plots and how to reintegrate them into the economic cycle, while strengthening support for industrial promoters to encourage them to complete their constructions and start production.

Accelerating Validation of Industrial Land Reserves

The minister emphasized the need to accelerate the validation of industrial land reserves to strengthen the land heritage intended for investment. She recalled the strategic role of AFI in supporting investors, simplifying procedures, and strengthening direct communication. She also called for regular meetings between different public entities for better coordination and rapid implementation of practical solutions.

AFI's Role in Promoting Development and Investment

Since its creation in 1973, the Industrial Land Agency has played a central role in promoting development and investment. It has developed 115 industrial zones on over 3,000 hectares, allowing it to host more than 6,000 industrial enterprises.
