The 9th Edition of the Ultra Mirage El Djerid International Marathon Kicks Off
The starting gun for the 9th edition of the Ultra Mirage El Djerid international marathon was fired on Saturday, September 27, 2025, marking the launch of the sports event season with a tourist vocation in the Tozeur governorate. This edition has recorded a record participation of 500 runners from 29 countries across the five continents, confirming the growth of this race created in 2017 with only 60 participants from 13 nationalities.

This year, a new course has been introduced, starting at Lake Chamsa, 15 km from Tozeur, and traversing the spectacular landscapes of the north of the governorate, between sand dunes, oases, and sebkhas, to Chott El Gharsa. Another novelty: the launch of a 25 km course open to amateurs, in addition to the classic distances of 50 and 100 km. The event welcomes participants aged 15 to 72, with female participation representing 25% of the total. The organizers hail the growing success, which confirms the positioning of the Ultra Mirage as a leading sports and tourist event in Tunisia. At the heart of this adventure, Assurances BIAT renews its partnership for the ninth consecutive year. More than just a sponsor, the company asserts itself as a committed actor in the long term, supporting the sustainable development of sports and tourism in the region.
