UN and Aid Organizations Warn of Humanitarian Crisis in Palestinian Territories
The United Nations and several aid organizations have warned that humanitarian operations in Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, are at risk of collapsing if the Israeli entity does not lift the existing obstacles. These obstacles include registration procedures deemed "problematic, arbitrary, and highly politicized".
In a joint statement released on Wednesday, the UN and over 200 local and international humanitarian organizations specified that dozens of international NGOs are at risk of having their registration revoked by December 31. If this measure is implemented, they would be forced to cease their activities within 60 days.
"The cancellation of international NGOs' registration in Gaza will have a catastrophic impact on access to essential and vital services," the statement emphasizes.
