At the opening of the meeting, the Head of Government recalled the directives of the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, regarding the public press sector, particularly the written press. She highlighted the on-site visits to the headquarters of "Dar Assabah" and SNIPE-La Presse on March 11 and June 16, 2023, and the presidential decision to merge the two companies to ensure their sustainability and implement a restructuring program. These companies represent an essential part of the national media memory, and preserving them, as well as the rights of employees, is a priority.

The meeting reviewed the various stages of the file, from the judicial settlement of "Dar Assabah" to the decision to merge with SNIPE-La Presse, as well as the definition of restructuring mechanisms. The Head of Government praised the state's efforts to succeed in this process despite the difficulties faced by the two companies in recent years.

Following the meeting, it was decided to:

  • authorize SNIPE-La Presse to transfer all shares of "Dar Assabah" for a symbolic value of one dinar as part of the merger;
  • authorize the new company to absorb "Dar Assabah" in accordance with the legislation and regulations in force.

The Head of Government emphasized that this merger will create a unified, more durable, and efficient national media institution. She called for:

  • implementing a comprehensive restructuring program to improve performance and ensure the sustainability of the new entity;
