Hikma Tunisia Pharmaceutical Company Inaugurates New Production Unit
The Hikma Tunisia pharmaceutical company inaugurated its third production unit on Monday, November 10, 2025, during a ceremony held in the Sidi Thabet industrial zone. The event was attended by the Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, the General Manager of Hikma Tunisia, Mouin Zaafrane, the Chief Operating Officer of the group, Tareq Darwazeh, as well as several officials from the pharmaceutical and health sectors.
A Major Step in Expansion Strategy
"This inauguration marks a major step in Hikma Tunisia's expansion strategy and reaffirms its commitment to national health sovereignty," emphasized Minister Mustapha Ferjani, adding that the project required an investment of over 50 million dinars.
New Production Unit Details
The General Manager of Hikma Tunisia, Mouin Zaafrane, specified that this unit, with a total area of 6,500 m², including 2,000 m² of covered space dedicated to production, employs 40 people, bringing the total number of company employees to 320, of which 40% are women.
Production Capacity and Export
The factory specializes in the manufacture of pills, with a production capacity of 200,000 units per hour. Approximately 30% of production is intended for export to French-speaking African countries. Over 140 pharmaceutical products are manufactured according to international quality standards.
Commitment to Training and Autonomy
Zaafrane also emphasized the importance of continuous training and the 100% Tunisian character of the team, recalling that Hikma Tunisia, with 35 years of existence, remains committed to promoting health, innovation, and strengthening the country's pharmaceutical autonomy.
