UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Announces Opening of Applications for the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2027
The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, through the General Directorate of International Cooperation, has announced the opening of applications for the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2027, launched by the United Arab Emirates. This initiative is part of the support for innovative projects and initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development and promoting solutions with a positive impact on various communities around the world.
The Zayed Sustainability Prize is one of the most prestigious global awards in the field of sustainability. It aims to honor small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-profit organizations, and secondary education institutions that offer innovative and effective projects and solutions in the fields of health, food, energy, water, and climate action, thus contributing to addressing global challenges, improving quality of life, and building a more sustainable future.
The total value of the prizes is $7.2 million: the winner of each of the five categories of organizations will receive $1 million, while the winning secondary schools will receive $150,000 to fund and implement projects led by students within their communities. Additionally, the prize provides additional financial support to finalists: qualified organizations will receive $100,000, while secondary school finalists will receive $25,000.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research invites all individuals wishing to participate to submit their application dossier via the official website of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, while transmitting a copy of the dossier to the General Directorate of International Cooperation, by June 22, 2026.
It is worth noting that the Zayed Sustainability Prize is a pioneering international distinction launched by the United Arab Emirates in 2008 to reward SMEs, non-governmental organizations, and high schools that are carriers of sustainable and innovative solutions.
