Heritage Evenings and “Night of Tunisian Museums” Return for a New Ramadan Edition
Faithful to a Ramadan tradition that previously received a warm response, the Agency for Heritage Development and Cultural Promotion (Amvppc) has revived this year the “Heritage Evenings” and “Night of Tunisian Museums” in their latest edition – a picturesque journey through time and space!
Press Release – Heritage Evenings Begin Today, March 5
For Amvppc, the timing could not be more perfect: a double celebration of the holy month, worthy of every ceremonial and festive manifestation. Each year the agency showcases a full programme of activities across its sites and monuments scattered throughout the four corners of the country.
A Special Ramadan‑Themed Activity Menu
All events are organised, of course, with the support of the National Heritage Institute (INP) under the aegis of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. This year’s theme is:
“Our publications illustrate the challenges of research in memory and history.”
The Heritage Evenings and Night of Tunisian Museums are two flagship events whose spirit aligns perfectly with the true meaning of Ramadan.
During this month, the sacred and the cultural intersect and complement each other, creating a flawless synergy. The goal remains to strengthen the visibility of our national heritage and to open our museums widely to a public that is not overly “museum‑philic,” offering them a Ramadan‑specific night‑time activity menu. This approach captures attention and encourages visitors to fall in love with their past.
Schedule of the 4th Edition of “Heritage Evenings”
| Date | Venue | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Thursday, March 5 | Archaeological Fort of Sfax | Opening ceremony and guided night tours |
| Friday, March 6 | Center for the Presentation of History and Monuments – Tunis | Exhibitions, workshops, and live performances |
| Saturday, March 7 | Archaeological Museum of Sbeitla (Kasserine) | Special Ramadan‑themed displays |
| Wednesday, March 11 | Mahdia Museum | Continuation of festivities celebrating Tunisia’s national heritage |
The programme spreads over a packed festive calendar, inviting locals and tourists alike to experience Tunisia’s rich cultural tapestry.
“Night of Tunisian Museums” – 6th Edition (March 13)
Following the success of its five previous editions, the Night of Tunisian Museums returns for the sixth time on March 13. For one extraordinary night, all participating museums open their doors for free, immersing visitors in a unique Ramadan atmosphere. Attendees can enjoy a variety of specially designed activities and performances.

Why Communication, Art, and Cultural Marketing Matter
In short, success hinges on effective communication, artistic storytelling, and strategic cultural marketing. Visiting heritage sites may not yet be a habit for many, but it will become one if we shift our promotion strategy. A long‑term, sustainable marketing plan is essential to keep such programming alive throughout the year, not just during Ramadan.
