Heavy Rainfall Hits Several Regions in the Country

The past 24 hours have been marked by heavy rainfall in several regions of the country, according to data published by the National Institute of Meteorology (INM). The highest rainfall totals were recorded in the Kasserine governorate, with:

  • 97 mm in El Ayoun
  • 55 mm in Sbiba
  • 42 mm in Jedliane

Significant precipitation also affected Sidi Bouzid, where the stations of:

  • Bir El Hafey recorded 22 mm
  • Regueb recorded 34 mm
  • Sidi Bouzid-ville recorded 34 mm

In other regions, rainfall totals varied between:

  • 5 and 33 mm in Sfax
  • 9 and 29 mm in the Kef
  • 9 and 18 mm in Siliana
  • 20 and 30 mm in Gafsa
  • 12 and 18 mm in the Médenine governorate
  • 14 mm in Bir Lahmar, Tataouine

Meanwhile, the INM reported strong sea winds, reaching up to 65 km/h, making navigation difficult in several coastal areas.
