Social Coverage in Tunisia Reaches 64.6%
According to the 2025 demographic survey, the percentage of Tunisians benefiting from social coverage has reached 64.6%. This coverage stands at 70.7% in urban areas and 63.5% in rural areas.
Health Coverage
The census results also showed that 80.5% of Tunisians have health coverage, while 19% remain excluded. The National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) covers 60.6% of all insured individuals.
Breakdown of Health Coverage
Meanwhile, 18% of Tunisians have health coverage through the social security program:
- 11.1% possess a reduced-rate care card
- 6.9% possess a free care card
- 2.4% of Tunisians have health coverage through mutual fund and other systems.
