Development and Support of Emergency Services: A Strategic Roadmap
The development and support of emergency services, both in hospital settings and pre-hospital phases, were the central focus of a major meeting. Recently, the Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, met with the executive board of the Tunisian Society of Emergency Medicine to define a strategic roadmap.
According to the official statement from the Ministry of Health, this meeting resulted in the adoption of a series of crucial measures aimed at improving the emergency system. The main measures will consist of:
- Strengthening the infrastructure and equipment of emergency services
- Renovating mobile units to ensure rapid and high-quality intervention
- Equipping emergency services with specialized human resources
- Improving coordination mechanisms on the ground for better management of interventions
The new strategy to be adopted also includes:
- Implementing devices to secure emergency services and ensure optimal working conditions for staff and enhanced protection for patients
- Conducting a comprehensive review of the patient journey in emergency services to alleviate pressure and guarantee better quality of care
This strategic approach aims to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of emergency services in Tunisia, ultimately providing better care and outcomes for patients.
