Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas Condemns Israeli Decision to Keep Rafah Crossing Closed
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has described the Israeli occupier's decision to prevent the opening of the Rafah terminal until further notice as a "flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement" reached in the Gaza Strip, after two years of Israeli aggression.
In a statement published on social media, Hamas considered the Israeli entity's decision as "a denial of commitments" made by the Israeli entity to the mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement. "The guarantors of the agreement demanded that (the Israeli entity) respect all the provisions of the agreement," the movement recalled.
Hamas explained in this context that "the continued closure of the Rafah crossing, the prevention of the exit of the wounded and sick, the ban on the movement of citizens in both directions, and the entry of special equipment necessary for the search for people missing under the rubble... will lead to delays in the recovery and return of bodies." The Rafah crossing has been almost completely closed since May 2024, it is recalled.
