Medical Miracle: 12-Year-Old's Life Saved at Habib Bourguiba University Hospital
The medical and paramedical staff of the cardiac and vascular surgery department at Habib Bourguiba University Hospital in Sfax saved the life of a 12-year-old child who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest due to a congenital heart defect last Sunday.
According to the regional health directorate in Sfax, immediate cardio-respiratory resuscitation allowed the child's pulse to be restored. The child was then transferred to the operating room, where a delicate cardiac surgery was successfully performed by the medical team.
Despite a critical post-operative phase, the child is currently doing well, thanks to the coordination between the cardiac surgery, anesthesia, and intensive care teams.
