Tunisian Parliament Approves Amendment to Allow Citizens to Open Foreign Currency Accounts
The members of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) approved, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, additional article No. 81 of the 2026 finance bill, which now allows Tunisians residing in Tunisia to open foreign currency accounts.

- The measure was adopted during a joint plenary session with 69 votes in favor, 17 abstentions, and 17 votes against.
- According to the adopted text, these foreign currency accounts will be dedicated to transaction operations and will enable citizens residing in Tunisia to carry out certain financial operations in foreign currencies, within a legal and regulated framework.
