Security units arrested 209 wanted individuals and seized various quantities of drugs following a large-scale security operation conducted on the night of February 11-12, 2026, in several areas of Greater Tunis, the Ministry of Interior announced.
Operation Details
According to an official statement, these operations are part of the fight against crime and threats to public order. They were conducted under the direct supervision of security personnel on the ground and targeted various regions within the governorates of Greater Tunis.
Targets and Seizures
The interventions prioritized dangerous criminal elements involved in drug trafficking and violent robberies, commonly known as "braquages," as well as individuals subject to arrest warrants or wanted by the justice system. Law enforcement also seized variable quantities of narcotic pills, cocaine, and cannabis, in addition to sums of money derived from criminal activities.
Ongoing Security Efforts
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that these security campaigns will continue in residential neighborhoods, public spaces, and near educational institutions, in line with the state's orientations and security strategy aimed at protecting citizens and ensuring security and stability across the national territory.
