Temporary Water Outage in Mornag Delegation Due to Infrastructure Upgrade
Mornag, Tunisia - May 12, 2026
The National Water Distribution and Supply Company (SONEDE) has announced a temporary disruption in the water supply in several areas of the Mornag delegation as part of a project to enhance the region's water resources.
According to a statement released by the company, the disruptions will take place from 9:00 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, following the connection of the new Châala reservoir, with a capacity of 2,500 cubic meters, to the main 600 mm diameter distribution pipeline.
The affected areas include parts of the Boumhel region, the urban area of Mornag, and several surrounding localities, including El Alaiga, Erressala, and Zaouiet Mornag.
SONEDE has confirmed that the water supply will be restored progressively from 7:00 AM on Friday, May 15, 2026, once the works are completed.
The public company has also stated that the connection operations will continue uninterrupted, 24 hours a day, until their completion.
