Tunisian Aerospace Industry Makes Strong Presence at Hamburg Aviation Forum 2025
The Tunisian Aerospace Industry Group (GITAS) participated in the Hamburg Aviation Forum 2025, held on December 10 and 11 at the Hamburg Congress Center, confirming Tunisia's active presence in major international aerospace industry events.
Throughout the event, GITAS hosted numerous partners, prospects, and key players in the sector, engaging in inspiring discussions that highlighted innovation, performance, and the development potential of the Tunisian aerospace supply chain. The interest in Tunisian expertise was strongly affirmed through the sharing of experiences and success stories of international and Tunisian aerospace companies based in Tunisia, illustrating the maturity, reliability, and growing attractiveness of the national ecosystem.
The first day was marked by sustained networking dynamics and numerous exchanges with key players in the international aerospace ecosystem. The GITAS stand also welcomed the representative of FIPA-Tunisia in Germany, as a partner, as well as Mr. Nizar Jebabli, Consul of Tunisia in Hamburg, with whom discussions took place on the development and cooperation prospects of the Tunisian aerospace sector in the German market.
On the second day, the discussions gained intensity and strategic scope. Representatives of the BDLI (German Aerospace Industries Association) were present at the GITAS stand, where constructive discussions focused on the German aerospace market and the possibilities of opening and diversifying the Tunisian supply chain towards the German market.
In parallel, several exchanges highlighted the new qualifications and certifications in the aerospace sector, particularly Aero Excellence, as well as the growing importance of cross-cutting themes such as Air Cyber, which have become key levers of competitiveness, trust, and international positioning for Tunisian companies.
This participation was based on close coordination with GITAS, whose strong presence allowed for collective visibility of the entire Tunisian aerospace sector. The group's stand constituted a real convergence point for exchanges with international customers, suppliers, and industrial decision-makers.
The Tunisian delegation highlighted a sector now structured around engineering, industrial production, and maintenance activities. Today, the national aerospace ecosystem comprises over 80 companies, mostly export-oriented, and generates over 20,000 direct jobs, confirming its strategic role in the Tunisian economy.
Beyond infrastructure and industrial capabilities, the focus was on the quality of Tunisian human capital. The discussions emphasized the determining role of engineering schools and specialized training centers, which supply the sector with qualified, adaptable, and internationally standardized skills. In a global context marked by strong competition for talent and technological investments, this asset constitutes one of the major pillars of Tunisia's attractiveness.
GITAS' participation in the Hamburg Aviation Forum 2025 is part of the Invest for Jobs program - Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition", through the project "Partnerships for Employment and Support to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Tunisia II", mandated by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Tunisia, under the supervision of the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy.
The forum also highlighted the Aerospace Meetings Tunisia, scheduled to take place in Tunis from July 7 to 9, 2026. FIPA-Tunisia and GITAS invited international participants to join this B2B convention, which will be an opportunity to strengthen ties with the Tunisian aerospace ecosystem and connect local companies to global markets in a strategic and professional framework.
