International Migration Organization Meeting
At the invitation of Ms. Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, will co-chair a ministerial roundtable organized by the IOM in Geneva on December 6, 2025. The theme of the meeting is: "Migration in Africa at a Crossroads: From Cooperation to Finding Solutions".
Objective of the Meeting
This high-level regional meeting aims to:
- Examine the current migration situation
- Study ways to strengthen the effectiveness of regional and international cooperation
- Define concrete approaches to find solutions to the challenges facing the African continent in this area
Tunisia's Approach to Migration
During the meeting, the Minister will present the foundations of the comprehensive approach adopted by Tunisia in managing migration issues. This approach ensures a balance between:
- The human dimension
- Security requirements
- Development needs
- Shared responsibilities
- The importance of converging efforts to combat human trafficking
- The need to strengthen cooperation with regional and international partners to find humanitarian and pragmatic solutions to this critical issue.
