Palestinian Sources Report Rafah Border Crossing to Reopen Next Week
Palestinian sources reported on Friday evening that the Rafah land border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt will be reopened in both directions next week, indicating that travel priority will be given to those injured in the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The sources told the Xinhua News Agency that travel priority during the first days of the crossing's resumed activities, which connects the Gaza Strip to the outside world, will be granted to the injured and holders of Egyptian passports.
The sources specified that 50 Palestinian wounded individuals, along with their companions, will be allowed to leave daily during the first days of the crossing's opening, and that the mechanism will be gradually expanded to include other categories of travelers later on.
According to the sources, the Palestinian embassy in Egypt will be responsible for coordinating the return procedures of Palestinians from Cairo and abroad to the Gaza Strip, in coordination with the Egyptian authorities and international organizations.
The sources also indicated that the Zionist occupation army will redeploy around the crossing, positioning itself at a distance of one kilometer in all directions.
