Tunisian Association "Instance of Tunisian Resilience" Announces Arrest of Six Tunisians on Gaza Solidarity Flotilla
Monday, [Date]
The Tunisian association "Instance of Tunisian Resilience" announced on its official Facebook page on Monday evening that six Tunisians, among the participants of the "International Flotilla of Resilience to Lift the Blockade on the Gaza Strip," were arrested by Israeli forces alongside activists from various nationalities.
In a statement published on its page, the Instance declared that the ships of the flotilla were subject to an interception and act of piracy by the occupying forces at sea. The operation targeted 39 ships heading towards the Gaza Strip as part of a solidarity effort aimed at breaking the blockade imposed on the enclave, according to the organizers.
The Instance specified that the detained Tunisian citizens are: Moheb Senoussi, Saber Majri, Hamza Bouzouida, Safa Chabi, Hasna Boussen, and Jihane El Haj Mbarek.
While condemning what it called "Israeli aggression," the Instance reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing support actions for the Palestinian cause and demanding the lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip. It also called on the Tunisian authorities to intervene and work towards ensuring the release of the detained Tunisian citizens.
This action is part of international initiatives orchestrated by networks and organizations supporting the Palestinian cause. In recent years, these collectives have regularly chartered solidarity convoys and ships towards the Gaza Strip to draw attention to the humanitarian situation in the blockaded territory.
