Security Operation Uncovers Illicit Alcohol Manufacturing Den
Authorities Seize Large Quantity of Hazardous Liquor in Gafsa Region
The public security agents of the National Guard's post, located in the Bourguiba – Sidi Ahmed Zarroug neighborhood, have successfully dismantled a hidden manufacturing facility producing illicit alcohol, locally known as "Gueraba". This operation was carried out after consultation with the public prosecutor's office in Gafsa.
According to available information, the raid resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of approximately 7,500 liters of this hazardous substance, intended for sale to the region's youth. The total value of the seized goods is estimated to be around 45,000 dinars.
Necessary legal measures have been taken against the owner of this hidden facility, pending the completion of the investigation.
This security operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat the phenomenon of selling alcohol of unknown origin, which poses a direct threat to public health. Such substances have often caused fatal cases of poisoning, highlighting the importance of these enforcement actions.
