Successful Medical Caravan Organized by the Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery Department

The ophthalmology and eye surgery department of the Houssine Bouzayene University Hospital in Gafsa, led by Dr. Hamza Lakhdheri, organized a successful medical caravan on November 7, 8, and 9.

Key Achievements

  • Over 100 cataract operations (elimination of "white blindness") and lens implantations were performed for the benefit of low-income patients.
  • These operations were carried out free of charge thanks to the support of the Vision Club (nadi al-basar), several civil society organizations, and in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Regional Directorate of Gafsa.
