President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, Receives Afreximbank President
The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received yesterday, November 25, at the Carthage Palace, Mr. George Elombi, the new President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and Chairman of its Board of Directors, who is on a working visit to Tunisia on November 25 and 26, 2025.
Strategic Partnership Between Tunisia and Afreximbank
The Head of State praised the level of strategic partnership between Tunisia and the African Export-Import Bank, highlighting the important role this institution plays in providing financial resources on favorable terms to support the state budget and finance a number of vital economic projects. He also emphasized its contribution to supporting and developing intra-African trade at the continental level.
Afreximbank: A Key Partner for Tunisia
The President of the Republic stressed that the bank is an essential partner for Tunisia, both in the public and private sectors, in order to address various economic and financial challenges. He welcomed the bank's commitment to supporting the country's efforts in financing major infrastructure projects and others in vital sectors. He also expressed his satisfaction with the intention of this African financial institution to open a regional office in Tunisia, which would contribute to creating a dynamic on the national financial scene by developing the volume of financing for Tunisian companies.
