Tunisian American Young Professionals Hosts Annual National Gathering in Maryland

The Tunisian American Young Professionals (TAYP) association held its annual national gathering from April 24 to 26, 2026, at the Turf Valley Resort in Maryland. The event brought together a diverse group of participants, including professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and figures from the Tunisian diaspora in the United States, as well as guests from Canada, France, and Tunisia.

Speaking on April 30, 2026, Chargé d'Affaires of the Tunisian Embassy in Washington, Anis Hajri, emphasized that the gathering aimed to strengthen intergenerational ties within the diaspora. According to him, the event provides concrete opportunities for exchange between students, young professionals, and experienced experts, fostering the emergence of perspectives on employment, investment, and sustainable partnerships.

During his appearance on Express Fm, the diplomat highlighted the strategic role of Tunisian skills abroad in promoting the country's international influence. He stressed their contribution through the transfer of expertise and their involvement in various projects, while recalling the embassy's commitment to maintaining a permanent link with the Tunisian community to ensure accompaniment and support.

Anis Hajri also noted that many Tunisian talents hold positions in international companies such as Google and Microsoft, demonstrating their level of excellence and ability to serve as a bridge between Tunisia and its international environment. In this context, he announced the upcoming organization of a meeting dedicated to Tunisian startup founders, with the aim of strengthening their accompaniment.

On another front, he clarified that Tunisian diplomatic action is structured around two complementary axes: supporting the diaspora and valuing skills abroad, on the one hand, and strengthening relations with American investors, on the other. This approach, according to him, is based not only on information but also on active follow-up and continuous accompaniment.
