University Housing: 49 Institutions Offer Nearly 28,500 Beds

The Director of University Services at the Northern University Services Office, Chokri El Akrimi, announced on Friday, September 5, 2025, that 49 institutions are concerned with university housing in the governorates of Greater Tunis, Northwest, Nabeul, Bizerte, and Zaghouan. These institutions offer nearly 28,500 beds for new students and those seeking exceptional housing.

Priorities for Housing Allocation

In a statement on the "Echaraa Ettounsi" program, Chokri El Akrimi specified that there are priorities for allocating housing to eligible students (those who passed their baccalaureate in 2025 and 2024), with a number of remaining beds for other students under exceptional housing arrangements. He explained that half of the available beds are located in the governorates of Greater Tunis, where the number of exceptional housing arrangements is also higher than in other regions.

Submission of Housing Applications

The period for submitting housing applications has been launched for all students. The university semester has already begun for medical students, students in preparatory institutes for engineering studies, and students in higher institutes of technological studies. The second semester will start on September 12 for other students in all higher education and scientific research institutions. El Akrimi emphasized that social housing takes into account these specificities, as housing has been allocated on a priority basis to students who have already resumed their studies.

Allocation of Housing

From September 8, the allocation of housing will begin for other students, with a high probability for those requesting exceptional housing. By September 25, a large number of students will have obtained housing.
