On the occasion of National Agriculture Day, a large direct sales market "from producer to consumer" has opened its doors on Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Spanning 450 square meters, this initiative allows citizens of the capital to access fresh products at wholesale market prices.
Speaking over the phone on Wednesday, Tarek Tira, Under-Director of Export Development at the Interprofessional Group of Fruits, explained that around 20 exhibitors are participating in this event. The offer is comprehensive and diverse, featuring seasonal fruits and vegetables, seafood, meats, poultry, cheeses, and olive oil. Emphasis is also placed on processed agricultural products, highlighting the value of local expertise.
Organized by interprofessional groups and the Office of State Lands, this agricultural fair will remain open to the public until May 16. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, the event aims to support Tunisian purchasing power while providing a privileged showcase for national producers.
