Recognized Resistance Fighters Receive Monthly Pension and Free Medical Coverage

In response to a written parliamentary question, the government presidency has clarified that recognized resistance fighters and their beneficiaries are entitled to a monthly pension and free medical coverage in public and military healthcare establishments.

This clarification was made in response to a question posed by Mounir Kammouni, a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the People (ARP). The government presidency aimed to ensure that resistance fighters and their families have access to these rights.

To guarantee access to these benefits, an exhaustive database has been established to record all individuals who have proven their participation in the fight against colonialism. This registry, which includes resistance fighters and their families, is directly managed by the National Retirement and Social Security Fund (CNRPS) to ensure the payment of pensions and the issuance of free medical care cards.

Regarding the need to adjust these pensions in light of the rising cost of living, the government presidency reminded that the last major pension increase occurred in 2018. This increase was formalized by Government Decree No. 38 of January 16, 2018, which also linked the National Resistance Commission to the General Committee of Martyrs and Wounded of the Revolution and Terrorist Acts.
