Tunisia's Cultural Heritage Agency Announces Free Access to Archaeological Sites, Historical Monuments, and Museums
On the Occasion of International Museum Day, May 18, 2026
The Agency for the Valorization of Heritage and Cultural Promotion (AMVPPC) has announced that access to all archaeological sites, historical monuments, and museums under its supervision will be free tomorrow, Monday, May 18, 2026, in celebration of International Museum Day.
Free Access for Tunisian Citizens and Foreign Residents
According to a statement released by the agency on Sunday evening, this measure benefits both Tunisian citizens and foreign residents living legally in Tunisia (holders of a residence permit).
Additional Free Access Days
The agency has also reminded the public that free access to these sites is available on the first Sunday of every month, on April 18 (International Monuments and Sites Day), May 18 (International Museum Day), and on public holidays.
