Two Literary Encounters with Tunisian Writers: "Mapping Tunisia in Francophone Literature"
Two literary encounters, titled "Mapping Tunisia in Francophone Literature", will take place on October 27 and 28, 2025, at the Auditorium of the French Institute of Tunisia (IFT) in Tunis. These encounters precede the international conference titled: "I Name You Tunisia... Literary Cartographies: Tunisian Space in the Works of Tunisian Writers", scheduled for October 29 and 30, 2025, at the Faculty of Letters, Arts, and Humanities of Manouba (FLAHM). These events will provide an opportunity to explore the place of Tunisia in contemporary Francophone literary creation.
Organization and Program
Organized by the Research Laboratory in Literature and Language Sciences "Textual Analysis, Translation, and Communication" (ATTC), attached to the French Department of FLAHM, the conference will feature six scientific sessions:
- "In-Between Spaces: Non-Places and Other Places"
- "Geopolitics of the Tunisian Novel"
- "Poetry of Space"
- "Territories of Contemporary Fiction"
- "Memory and Judeo-Tunisian Geopolitics"
- "Marginal Places, Mutating Places"
Literary Encounters at IFT
The IFT encounters, co-organized by IFT, Paris Nanterre University, Paris 8 Vincennes University, Elyzad Editions, and the ATTC Laboratory, will include round tables, readings, and exchanges with Tunisian authors.
