Tunis Court of Appeal Confirms Dismissal of Case Against Former Economy Minister
The correctional chamber of the Tunis Court of Appeal has confirmed the dismissal of the lawsuit against former Economy Minister, Samir Saïd, in two cases that targeted him in his capacity as a former official at a public bank.
The public prosecutor's office had referred Samir Saïd, who is currently free, to the correctional chamber to be tried for allegations related to the violation of foreign exchange legislation, in connection with his supervision of a public banking institution.
The first-instance correctional chamber had previously acquitted former Minister Samir Saïd of all charges brought against him.
After reviewing the files of the two cases, the Tunis Court of Appeal also ruled in favor of his acquittal and confirmed the first-instance judgment dismissing the case (no grounds for prosecution) against him.
