Tunisian Foreign Minister Expresses Satisfaction with Growing Spanish Investments
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, expressed his satisfaction with the significant development of Spanish investments in Tunisia in recent years, considering Spain as the fourth largest investor in the country. He also emphasized the importance of working together to develop several sectors, including the technological field and energy transition.
Nafti praised the depth of historical ties between Tunisia and Spain in a speech delivered on Friday during a reception organized at the residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Tunis, on the occasion of the Spanish National Day. He valued the importance of these relations, rooted in a rich and ancient history, which is not limited to the geographical proximity between the two countries, but also results from a cultural and human convergence.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister also stressed the need to strengthen the cooperation dynamic and continue to work together to elevate bilateral relations in various fields to the level of aspirations of both parties. This is especially significant as this year coincides with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Good Neighborliness between the two countries, as well as the commemoration of two important historical milestones: the 30th anniversary of the partnership agreement with the European Union and the launch of the Barcelona Process, "which testifies to the solidity of our bilateral relations and the depth of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation between Tunisia and Spain".
He emphasized the importance of continuing and strengthening cultural and academic cooperation, praising the success of the Tunisian-Spanish cultural cooperation program organized in Madrid during the first half of this year. The program included numerous cultural events such as conferences, film screenings, and exhibitions of Tunisian plastic artists.
On the other hand, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the convergence of Tunisian and Spanish views on the issue of the genocide suffered by the Palestinian people. He reiterated Tunisia's unconditional support for the struggles of the Palestinian people to recover their historical, inalienable rights and establish their independent and fully sovereign state on all of Palestine, with Jerusalem (Al Qods Cherif) as its capital.
