Espérance de Tunis Secures Second Place in Ligue 1, Qualifying for CAF Champions League

Espérance de Tunis secured their place as the runner-up in the Ligue 1 professional football league on Thursday, confirming their ticket to the CAF Champions League after a distant duel with CS Sfaxien, who also qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup.
The team, led by technical director Christian Bracconi following the departure of Patrice Beaumelle after the title loss to Club Africain in the previous matchday, secured their victory thanks to a goal from Hamza Rafia at the 38th minute. Espérance de Tunis concluded the season in second place with 63 points, while US Ben Guerdane finished tenth with 35 points.
Meanwhile, at the Taïeb Mhiri stadium, CS Sfaxien dominated Etoile du Sahel 3-1 in the clasico of the final matchday. Omar Ben Ali quickly put his team on track with a double scored in the 1st and 29th minutes, before Ali Maâloul added a third goal on penalty just before the break (45+1).
Thanks to this success, CS Sfaxien completed the championship in third place and secured their participation in the next CAF Confederation Cup.
Etoile du Sahel, on the other hand, concluded the season in seventh place with 41 points.
